Soviet-era unique T-72M1 tank was spotted near Camp Dodge, Iowa
A unique Soviet-era Czech T-72M1 tank was spotted being transported in the vicinity of Camp Dodge, Iowa. This was reported by Ronkainen on his Twitter account, which tracks the transportation of the tank.

Where is the final destination of the tank is not reported. It is also not known if the tank is being transported to be tested. Ronkainen says on Twitter that the tank came from the Nevada Automotive Test Center to the Aberdeen Test Center, MD. However, the photos were distributed on the 16th and 17th of May on the web.
The T-72M1 is a unique tank. It is a Czech production developed based on the Soviet tank T-72. According to information from open sources, this tank was produced in extremely small quantities. Some suggest that only 30 units were produced by him. Only 10 of them were [are still] used by the Czech Army, while the other 20 were cannibalized for spare parts.
However, according to others, this information is incomplete and even contradictory. They [the other sources] say at least 36 units were produced from the T-72M1 upgrade. A part of them was donated to Ukraine after the beginning of the Russian invasion. Along with them, the Czechs have donated a T-72M4CZ upgrade as well.
The T-72M1 tank is an export version of the T-72A. It is also known by the Czech designation Ob’yekt 172M-E5 and was developed in the mid-1980s.
What makes this tank even more unique is that it is equipped with DYNA reactive armor. This armor is produced by the Czech company Excalibur Army. For the first time, this modification of the T-72M1 with DYNA armor was presented to the public nearly four years ago, in 2019. This modification is also known as the T-72 Scarab.
T-72 Scarab
It was the T-72 Scarab lying on top of the American truck trailer spotted near Camp Dodge. According to open sources, not only the jet armor distinguishes Scarab from other T-72s.
The T-72 Scarab is equipped with a much better power pack. Its armor is said to provide better protection against weapons of mass destruction. Sources say the Scarab is equipped with an advanced optical and targeting fire control system. This tank features remote control of the external 12.7mm machine gun as well as an advanced communication system.
