US destroys bio-, chemical warfare materials in Ukraine – documents

WASHINGTON — The sensitive topic of society, biological and chemical weapons, is again silenced by a large part of the international media. The subject remains taboo. Despite some official documents. Despite some Pentagon contracts with Ukraine and the Middle East. In fact, the Pentagon’s contract is in stark contrast to some claims from the US in recent months.

This is a contract signed August. 15, 2022. The US Army Engineering and Maintenance Center [USAEMC], signed a contract with five companies worth $500M. USAEMC is a Pentagon unit. Under the terms of the contract, contractor companies will be required to take action to destroy “biological and chemical warfare materials” and “depleted uranium” at “facilities located outside the United States.”

The sites located outside the US described in the treaty are Afghanistan, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Poland, South Korea, and Ukraine. The American companies that will deal with the destruction of biological and chemical warfare materials are Relyant Global LLC, Global Environmental & Munition Services LLC, Janus Global Operations LLC, Tetra TECH EC, Inc., and AECOM Technical Services, Inc. They will have to fulfill the contract until 2028.

What is written in the contracts?

Although there is a classification of biological and chemical warfare materials, the contract does not mention their type and origin. It said contractors for the $500 million contract are to provide military munitions response services, including hazardous munitions and explosives, potentially explosive materials, chemical warfare agents [CWs], and biological agents designed to use in war.

But the documents make it clear that the teams that will be engaged in physically carrying out the activity must be equipped with ballistic, nuclear, biological, or chemical protective equipment.

Also, according to the text of the contract, environmental remediation services should be performed, mainly involving hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste, including biological waste.

Claims that no longer hold value

That August contract is in stark contrast to some claims in recent months. For example, that there are no such kind of laboratories for such a weapon in Ukraine. Or that the US doesn’t fund such labs.

Later, a US government official partially refuted these claims. Victoria Nuland, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs: “Ukraine has biological research facilities” she said. Also she worried Russia may seize them. Now, however, with the publication of this treaty, the question is: if a thing does not exist, how is it possible to act at the next moment to destroy it?

Another question comes to the fore: if the biological and chemical warfare materials are in Ukraine [and the other countries mentioned], how did they end up there? As well as one more question: why is the US busy with their destruction if the US has nothing to do with them?

“Russian propaganda” is already overexposed

Some media outlets and organizations that flaunt the term “independent” or “fact checker” are far more likely to use the phrase “Russian propaganda” instead of delving deeply into publicly known documents that raise more questions than they give us answers. BulgarianMilitary.com leaves it up to you to decide how to assimilate this information. We have already asked our questions.
