Two dozen US Abrams M1A2 tanks spotted on a Bulgarian highway
SOFIA ($1=2.00 Bulgarian Levs) — Today, October 1st, a large convoy of American Abrams M1A2 tanks were spotted on the Bulgarian highway Trakia [part of the E80 international road]. A source of BulgarianMilitary.com traveling in the direction of Sofia filmed the military convoy exported by the Bulgarian military police. He was able to record the first five tanks of the convoy, claiming that the entire military column was at least 24 tanks.

The presence of Abrams M1A2 is usual in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian and American joint forces are continuously conducting military training and exercises around the country’s training grounds.
BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that at the beginning of September, the American military arrived in Bulgaria with M1A2 Abrams, M2A3 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, UH-60 Blackhawk, AN-64 Apache, and HH-60 helicopters, engineering, communication, and repair equipment.
In addition to the military maintaining continuous military personnel at the Novo Selo base, joint exercises are currently underway, which will conclude at the end of December.
BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that at the end of August, at the Tsrancha military training ground, Abrams tanks took part in a joint exercise with a Bulgarian tank brigade.
The transported tanks may be intended to be sent to another partner country, such as Turkey, Romania, Poland, or another Western European country.
