New 155x52mm Caesar Mark-II NG 6×6 offered to Colombia and Brazil
PARIS ($1=0.95 Euros) — Colombia and Brazil are two of the countries in Latin America that are interested and have been offered the latest version of the French self-propelled howitzer 155x52mm Caesar Mark-II NG 6×6. The French flagship in the artillery is gaining more and more popularity mainly due to its participation in the war in Ukraine, where, according to open sources, it is doing very well with precise strikes on positions of the Russian armed forces.

In Brazil, a process is underway under a local program to acquire 36 self-propelled howitzers. Nexter, the manufacturer of the Caesar Mark-II self-propelled howitzer, is involved in the procedure, and experts say the company has a real chance of winning and concluding a supply contract.
Colombia, for its part, has chosen this self-propelled howitzer for its armed forces. It is a known fact that the Colombian army, although not at war, uses its artillery in real fire missions [mainly attacking positions of Colombian drug cartels or ongoing battles between FARC guerrillas and the government]. For them [the Colombian army], logistical support after the acquisition is particularly important – an activity that France offered at a fixed price for the next two years and Colombia accepted. The only problem is the political changes in the country’s cabinet, and this could affect Bogota’s decision to acquire the French howitzers.
