BRATISLAVA ($1=0.96 Euros) — Ukraine has received helicopters and ammunition from Slovakia in support of the fight against the Russian armed forces, which invaded the country on February 24 this year, declaring war on Ukraine. The delivery was announced by Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy, according to Ukrainian information sources.

Slovakia has delivered to Ukraine four Mi-17 multi-purpose transport helicopters and one Mi-2. In addition to helicopters, Ukraine received ammunition for 122mm Grad multiple rocket launchers. The aid has been approved by the government. After a safe transfer helicopters are already used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Slovakia’s military aid will be reimbursed by the European Peace Foundation.
“This aid to Ukraine, like all previous deliveries, will be reimbursed to Slovakia by the European Peace Fund, which is a strong demonstration of the European Union’s solidarity with Ukraine,” Jaroslav Nagy said, adding that helicopters were already in Ukraine.
We remind you that Slovakia will not only repair equipment for the Ukrainian military but will also undertake its modernization. The work will be carried out at the Konstrukta defense repair plant in the Slovak city of Moldova above Bodvou.
Konstrukta Defense is a manufacturer of 155mm self-propelled howitzer Zuzana 2. In early June, the Slovak Minister of Defense announced that a contract had been signed for the production and supply of eight self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine of this type. Earlier it was also reported that the Ukrainian military is already training on these wheeled self-propelled howitzers.
The delivery of Zuzana 2 will fill the Ukrainian army with another 155-mm artillery system after M109, CAESAR, AHS Krab, M777, FH-70, and in the future Panzerhaubitz 2000.
