Turkey shows a prototype of stealth unmanned Bayraktar fighter
ANKARA ($1=17.12 Turkish Liras) — Selcuk Bayraktar, the chief technology officer [CTO] of the Turkish company Bayrak, the maker of the world-famous Bayraktar TB2 drone, posted a photo on its Twitter account of Turkey‘s first unmanned Kizilelma fighter. According to some Turkish media, this is a production model of the future prototype “painted and inscribed”.

“First photo of painted Bayraktar Kizilelma … first photo of its painted coating” said part of Selcuk Bayraktar’s tweet, presenting the company’s management in his post too.
Turkish media claim that the Bayraktar Kizilelma unmanned aerial vehicle system is based on the production experience gained in the development of the Bayraktar Akinci and must meet the future needs of the Turkish Air Force. BulgarianMilitary.com already wrote about this project in March 2022. Then the management of the Turkish company announced the start of the project and the start of its production to the prototype level. According to preliminary estimates of the management of the company, Bayraktar Kizilelma should make its first flight in 2023.
Bayraktar Kızılelma [English: Bayraktar Red Apple] will be jet-powered, single-engine, low-observable [stealth], supersonic, carrier-capable unmanned combat aircraft. As expected, Bayraktar Kızılelma should be able to take off and land on short runways as well as perform the same actions as an aircraft carrier. Turkish experts say the unmanned aircraft will play a key role in future military missions by the Turkish military abroad, most likely targeting the conflict in Syria, as well as military action against the PKK in Iraq and Syria.

The peculiarity of the low radar cross-section, which is considered one of the most critical issues in the design processes of manned fighter jets, was also taken into account in the design of Bayraktar Kızılelma.
The aircraft, which will use all ammunition developed nationally by Turkish engineers, will be a large power multiplier with a planned payload of 1,500 kilograms. Bayraktar Kızılelma, which aims to stay in the air for 5 hours with a mission radius of 500 nm, will also have high situational awareness with the AESA radar to be integrated.
“Bigger and more agile“ fish ”entered the production line after 3 and a half years of development. This is an unmanned combat aircraft Bayraktar Kızılelma. He is already on the road, stay tuned, ”said Selcuk Bayraktar back in March.
