Watch a video of Russian troops entering Ukraine – NYT
MOSCOW, ($1=88.55 Russian Rubles) — As we reported earlier today, Putin has ordered a “special” military operation in Ukraine, launching a full-scale invasion of the Eastern European country.
BulgarianMilitary.com provides its readers with video footage from a security camera at a Ukrainian checkpoint showing Russian armored combat vehicles crossing the border and entering Ukraine.
The video was first distributed by the New York Times, which claims it has verified the video from security cameras at a Crimea border crossing.
What is known so far from official statements on both sides is the following:
Ukraine claims that at 5.00 am Russian troops attacked Ukrainian military sites and airports without providing further information. The Armed Forces of Ukraine declared that they were repelling the attack. “The country’s defense forces are in full combat readiness, they have occupied and are holding defensive positions. The situation is under control. Information about the landing of Russian troops in Odessa is not true,” the General Staff of Ukraine added.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army claims that The Russian Federation has launched intense shelling of our units in the east, firing rockets and bombs at airfields in Boryspil, Ozernoye, Kulbakin, Chuguev, Kramatorsk, Chornobayevka, as well as military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the aggressor began artillery shelling of the territory and settlements of Ukraine along the state border and on the border with the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Russia says it has managed to neutralize Ukraine’s air defenses, the Ukrainian Air Force, and some key military airports and facilities.
Unconfirmed information so far:
Russia uses Caliber cruise missiles. BulgarianMilitary.com has a video of the Caliber cruise missile, but cannot confirm when and where it was taken in flight.
Sources claim that the Russian army has carried out attacks on Ukrainian ammunition depots and explosions.
Sources claim that the entire Ukrainian fleet is neutralized. These are Ukrainian warships in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
According to unconfirmed information, Russian troops have landed in Odessa, and the Russian ground army is in the Kharkov region.
