LONDON, ($1=0.74 British Pounds) – Britain has secured the existence of its fleet of AH-64E Apache helicopters after agreeing with Boeing on service and maintenance until 2040, BulgarianMilitary.com has learned, citing a press release from Boeing.

The contract is worth $ 348 million. and covers the entire life cycle of 50 Apache helicopters, including training, support, and sustainment. In the first four years of the contract, the agreement will provide at least 200 new jobs, which will increase over time.

The Wattisham Army Operational Airport in England is the main base of everything that will happen in the coming years until the end of the contract. Boeing, the British Ministry of Defense, and the British military are expected to work together to build engineering support, a supply chain, and logistics management.

Boeing has hired British pilots to train at the Middle Wallop Army Aviation Center (AAC) near the Hampshire village of Middle Wallop. To this end, the UK Department of Defense has already purchased and acquired two of the three simulated Longbow Crew Trainer simulated devices.

Longbow Crew Trainer is a training simulator designed to provide trainees with the full range of functionality, equipment, and features of the true AH-64 Apache. The simulator allows both pieces of training in helicopter piloting and training, rehearsing and playing various combat missions, and variants on the battlefield, and in the air.

Longbow Crew Trainer is the only high-quality, full-flight simulator accredited to train crews of Apache attack helicopters. Boeing teams have trained around the world with this simulator, including in hotspots such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Boeing has 30 qualified training teams located in the United States and around the world.

AH-64E Apache

The AH-64E is perhaps the most advanced and one of the most dangerous and highly effective attack helicopters on the battlefield. It is equipped with modern and modern requirements for combat avionics, navigation, weapons systems, sensors, and communication systems. The AH-64E has digital connectivity to unmanned aerial vehicles, making the helicopter capable of leading attack and reconnaissance drone missions.

The helicopter entered service with the US Army in 2011. His crew consists of two pilots. It is powered by a 2 x 1 994 shp engine and can reach a top speed of up to 300 km / h.

The helicopter is armed with one 30mm cannon, 16 precision air-to-ground missiles AGM-114L Hellfire-2, four air-to-air missiles AIM-92 Stinger, Mistral, or AIM-9 Sidewinder. It is separately equipped with two AGM-122 Sidearm anti-radiation missiles, as well as 19-shot pods with Hydra 70 unguided rockets.
