Polish precision Warmate rockets will arm Bayraktar TB2 UAVs
WARSAW, ($1=4.10 Polish Zlotys) – As we reported earlier this year, in May, during the visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to Turkey, an agreement was signed on the supply of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 Turkish reconnaissance drones to Poland.
- Poland joins the battle for the production of Turkish Bayraktar TB2
- Polish F-35s and F-16s can get ‘loyal wing’ Valkyrie UAV
- Poland and Turkey are increasing their armaments cooperation
The Polish company WB Group is in talks with the Turkish company Baykar Defense to equip tactical unmanned aerial vehicles with Warmate TL barrage ammunition. These weapons will be intended for those drones that Poland has ordered from Turkey for its armed forces, according to Defense24, citing Defense Turkey.
It is noted that the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones can be equipped with at least 4 Warmate TL barrage ammunition, but after the completion of the launcher, this number can be at least doubled.
The Polish edition notes that “this decision may be of interest not only to the Polish Armed Forces but also to other users of Bayraktar TB2 vehicles, such for example, Ukraine.”
Each of the barrage munitions installed on the Bayraktar TB2 can hit a target at a distance of up to 30 km from the point of discharge, which should significantly expand the capabilities of the Turkish drone to destroy enemy targets.
Earlier, BulgarianMilitary.com reported that next year the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to purchase an additional batch of strike and reconnaissance unmanned systems manufactured by Baykar.
This was announced by the recently appointed Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov during a visit to the area of the Joint Forces operation as part of a working trip together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Valery Zaluzhny.
Combat capability of Bayraktar TB2
The Turkish drone has undoubtedly become a hit on international markets and seriously disliked and undeservedly smiled at in Russia. In addition to making a well-functioning fighting machine, the Turks also managed to arm it well.
It is known that Bayraktar TB2 has UMTAS anti-tank missiles developed again in Turkey by the company Rocketsan. Separately, the Bayraktar TB2 can work very well with precision micro ammunition known as MAM-C and MAM-L.
The Turkish drone develops a speed of up to 130 km / h and can fly at an altitude of nearly 7 km. It can stay 24 hours in the air and, with such a duration, has a limited range – up to 150 km. In 2014 Turkey adopted Bayraktar TB2, and so far, it serves the countries of Azerbaijan, Qatar, Morocco, and Ukraine.
