New batch of weapons worth $ 60 million has arrived in Ukraine

KYIV, ($1=26.27 Ukrainain Hryvnia) – The third batch of additional international military aid worth $ 60 million from the US government has arrived in Ukraine for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, citing the Ukrainian MoD statement. It includes ammunition, anti-tank and precision weapons, medical equipment, and more, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

“Today we received another airplane of assistance from the United States as a result of the agreements between the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joe Biden. This is a sincere, open, ambulance for our military, on the front line they will be able to use these means of medical and military support,” said the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexander Nosov, quoted by the press service of the department.

For her part, Colonel Brittany Stewart, Attaché for the Army and Defense of the US Embassy in Ukraine, noted that “the United States of America is helping Ukraine in the development of the Armed Forces, which includes logistical assistance and training from tactical to strategic levels.” She also added that Washington wants to see Ukraine on its way to NATO, “a peaceful and free country.”

The head of the Main Logistics Department of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Nikolai Shevtsov, emphasized that the military-technical assistance received includes high-tech and highly scarce equipment and weapons, as well as the ammunition needed for the front line. According to him, the funds received in the previous cargo are already increasing our capabilities in counter-battery and anti-tank warfare, as well as intelligence.

“Today we received a batch of Javelin anti-tank missile systems with ammunition. We also received ammunition for the weapons that we have for NATO calibers. the number for the units of the Joint Forces Operation,” Shevtsov said.

Brigadier General Tatyana Ostashchenko, Commander of the Medsil of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, added that the cargo from the United States also includes personal protective equipment – first aid kits. She separately emphasized that military medical training in the Armed Forces is carried out following NATO standards.

As reported, on October 10 and 18, the previous two shipments from the US government arrived in Ukraine.
