U.S. successfully launched PrSM high-precision tactical missile

WASHINGTON – The US Army has conducted another successful test of a promising high-precision tactical missile PrSM [Precision Strike Missile], learned BulgarianMilitary.com, citing a Lockheed Martin statement.

It is indicated that the launch was carried out in the past day from the US Space Force base Vandenberg [California].

“This was the fifth successful rocket test flight in a row … and the second of three this year,” the report said. The rocket was launched from a multiple launch rocket system on a High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System [HIMARS] wheeled chassis.

According to the company, the rocket performed “the longest flight since the start of testing, exceeding the maximum threshold.” The company does not disclose the specific range. Meanwhile, according to sources in the military-industrial complex, the rocket flew over 500 km over the Pacific Ocean. During previous launches, the flight range was only 300-400 km.

The Pentagon plans in the future to increase the range of the system to 1.8 thousand km. The PrSM is expected to enter service with the US Army in 2023.
