Huge success of Bulgarian company Opticoelectron in London
PANAGYURISHTE, ($1=1.67 Bulgarian Levs) – For another year Opticoelectron was part of the annual international exhibition for defense and security DSEi 2021 was held from September 14 to 17. However, it turned out that the Panagyurishte company is the only Bulgarian company at the exhibition and once again proved that DSEi is one of the most profitable places where Opticoelectron makes deals.

We remind you that this year Opticoelectron celebrates its 50th anniversary. For this reason, a large part of the local production was presented live and aroused serious interest. “I have no right at the moment to reveal the names of the countries we spoke to and reached preliminary agreements, but our mobile surveillance systems may travel to Asia and our daily and thermal imaging products to Central Africa. Our series of optical cameras in the field of SWIR technology also aroused interest, but at a later stage, we will be able to present more specifics” eng. Boyan Garchev, the procurator of Opticoelectron said.
“DSEi is an exhibition that has always been present in our calendar. It is in the top three of the exhibitions for the year in the world,” added Garchev.
Weeks before the exhibition itself, Boyan Garchev shared that in Opticoelectron they were expecting some of their guests at the exhibition stand, as long conversations were held with them. He reminded that both Bulgaria and some countries in Western Europe, including the Scandinavian region, often trust surveillance, intelligence, and security systems.
“We presented new developments in the field of daily sights for assault rifles, as well as targets. We have invested several million levs in recent years to improve the quality of our optics. Of course, once we have started this modernization process, it cannot be interrupted so easily. On the contrary – in the coming years we have plans to continue investing in technology, solutions, and human capital,” said Garchev.
This year, Opticoelectron was supposed to attend other exhibitions in Asia, but the authorities in the Asian business oasis have postponed similar events, as the Covid-19 epidemic there is of a slightly different scale than in Bulgaria. “Things are dynamic. It’s not just Thailand or Indonesia. Other countries are also postponing exhibitions. The reasons are known. But still – the situation is gradually normalizing. Here – last year we were only at one exhibition in Bulgaria. There will be more. Optoelectron will have the opportunity to rediscover its potential to the world for the production of such products”, philosophically concludes Eng. Garchev.
