Macron: Without a sanitary passport where the situation is better

PARIS, ($1=0.854 Euros) – French President Emmanuel Macron admitted that the requirements related to the “sanitary passport” will be softened as the situation with the coronavirus improves in specific regions, learned According to BFMTV, he said this at a meeting of the Union of Local Enterprises [U2P].

“The sanitary passport will have to be carried with you to avoid the closure of organizations, but as soon as circumstances permit, we will cancel it in regions where the virus will circulate less,” the president said.

A day earlier, an opponent of passports asked Macron on the street if the requirements imposed by the recent law would continue until November 15 and beyond that date. Then he replied that it would depend on specific areas and the development of the epidemiological situation, and promised to act pragmatically.

Meanwhile, on September 16, the head of the French Ministry of Health, Olivier Veran, told RTL that it is impossible to soften the restrictions so far and that their lifting will depend on reducing the spread of the delta strain. The press service of the Ministry of Health said that if the situation allows it after November 15, the “sanitary passports” will be canceled, if not, they will be kept.

In France, special passes with a QR code were introduced by a special law from August 9th. The code means that a person has either been vaccinated against a coronavirus, or has recently been ill, or has passed a negative PCR test. Sanitary passports are required for the use of transport, except for urban public transport when visiting catering and cultural institutions. The government believes that while the law will be in effect until November 15.

Opponents of vaccinations, passports, and restrictive measures regularly stage street protests.
