Israeli fighters hit Hamas hard in Gaza early in the morning
TEL AVIV, ($1=3.21 Israeli Shekels) – Israeli defense forces attacked targets in the Gaza Strip early Monday morning in response to rocket attacks on Sunday, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
“Terrorists in Gaza fired rockets at Israel for three consecutive nights, threatening the lives of people in Gaza and Israel. In response, we attacked four parts of Hamas used for military training, weapons, and the entrance to an underground terrorist tunnel,” the IDF statement said.
According to Palestinian media, the blasts were heard in the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip, controlled by Hamas. According to them, a target was hit in the city of Rafa.
Reports also show that targets near Beit Lahia in the northern part of the sector have been hit by Israeli fighters.
The Shehab news agency also reported that the Israeli military had attacked a Hamas facility near the city of Khan Yunis, as well as a target near the central city of Gaza, Deir el-Balah.
Earlier, the Israeli Defense Forces announced that missile sirens had entered the Israeli communities of Kisufim and Ein Hashlosh, bordering Gaza. It was noted that a missile fired at Israel was intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.
Rockets from Gaza

According to a press release from the Israeli army, the Palestinians fired several rockets from Gaza, but the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system was activated and managed to intercept all of them. There are no reports of damage or injuries, say Israel.
In response to the rocket attack, the IDF launched airstrikes early Saturday morning. The statement that machine guns were used suggested that it was an Israeli attack by low-flying fighters. Israel believes they have hit both Hamas underground facilities and tunnels and ammunition depots near schools and mosques. No casualties were reported.

They will one day be free outside the jailer’s bars,” said Hamas spokesperson Abd al-Latif al-Qanou.

The ‘rocket war’ in 2021
In May, Israel and Gaza have exchanged continuous and intense missile attacks. Israel resorted to using its air force and was very close to sending ground troops and heavy armored vehicles and tanks to Gaza. Still, international pressure on Tel Aviv halted this Netanyahu’s decision.
Gaza has tested Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system by subjecting almost all cities in the country to rocket fire. Israel says the IDF has killed 120 members of Hamas and more than 20 members of Islamic Jihad. A total of 232 Palestinians were killed, 65 of them minors. However, it is not clear whether this number includes the killed 120 members of Hamas.
What is happening in the area?
The violence began after the focus fell on controversial judicial and political actions over the Palestinian-populated Sheikh Jara district of East Jerusalem. An Israeli court initially ruled that Palestinians should be evicted from the neighborhood and be populated with Israelis. A hearing on the eviction followed, but it never ended last Sunday and was postponed.
On Monday, May 10, Jerusalem was subjected to a brief rocket attack by al-Quds and Hamas with a request on the eviction decision. Israel did not comply with the Palestinians, which led to a retaliatory strike and a rocket fire between the two countries for the second day in a row.
