USS Arleigh Burke armed with Tomahawks entered the port of Tallinn
TALINN, ($1=0.84 Euros) – The USS Arleigh Burke [DDG 51] entered the port of Tallinn, Estonia. This visit is “planned”, writes the portal Naval Post, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing Defense Express. The real purpose of the ship visit is the strategic deterrence of the Russian Federation against the background of the beginning of the exercise West-2021.

The purpose of the visit is to demonstrate the determination of the United States to defend Estonia in the event of direct armed aggression, as well as to strengthen the strengthening of relations between the United States and Estonia.
It is noted that the American USS Arleigh Burke [DDG 51] had a long patrol before the visit to Estonia, which began in August this year. On the way to Tallinn, the US Navy destroyer crossed the waters of the North Atlantic and the Norwegian Sea.
The Americans officially declare that the purpose of their USS Arleigh Burke for Tallinn is extremely “humanitarian”: the ship’s crew will rest, go on excursions, and get acquainted with the culture of Estonia.
But it seems that the real purpose of the visit of the destroyer USS Arleigh Burke [DDG 51] in Tallinn – a demonstration of presence aimed at preventing possible Russian aggression in the Baltic region against the background of the beginning of the exercise “West-2021”.
It is worth recalling that the last time a large US Navy ship – the reconnaissance ship USS Mount Whitney [LCC 20] – arrived in Tallinn was in July 2019. And onboard the ship in February 2017 was a class-destroyer USS Hue City Ticonderoga with guided missiles.
It is also worth remembering that the distance from Tallinn to St. Petersburg is only 400 kilometers. Against this background, the ship with nearly a hundred Tomahawk missiles on board will act as one of the American means of strategic deterrence.
