These two missiles don’t leave a chance to the enemy – Russian MoD
MOSCOW, ($1= 73.38 Russian Rubles) – The accuracy of hitting the target, which the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile shows during the tests, does not leave any chance for the sea enemy, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

“We are completing the test of the Zircon hypersonic missile, recently we had another successful test (…). And I’ll tell you so – the accuracy that we tested on tests on naval targets, in general, does not leave any chances. Like “Dagger”. That is, we have the entire arsenal. We can from the sea, we can from the air,” said Shoigu in an interview published by the newspaper Arguments and Facts.
On August 10, Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Krivoruchko announced that the state tests of the Zircon would be completed in 2021.
“This year, tests of the Zircon hypersonic missile will be completed,” Krivoruchko said during the Single Day of Acceptance of Military Products.
On July 19, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the next tests of the Zircon.
“In the waters of the White Sea, the lead frigate of project 22350” Admiral of the Soviet Union Fleet Gorshkov “fired a Zircon hypersonic cruise missile at a ground target located on the coast of the Barents Sea,” the message said.
“According to objective control data, the Zircon missile successfully hit the target with a direct hit at a distance of over 350 km. The tests confirmed the tactical and technical characteristics of the Zircon missile. The flight speed was about seven Machs,” the agency informed.
It is planned to equip submarines and surface ships of the Russian Navy with the Zircon complex, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
In February 2019, in a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Zircon missile would be capable of hitting ground and surface targets at a distance of over one thousand kilometers at a speed of about nine Machs. In December 2019, Putin said that work was underway on the Zircon hypersonic missile, not only sea-based but also land-based.
“Dagger” is an aviation complex with a high-precision hypersonic aeroballistic missile, created based on a modernized long-range fighter-interceptor MiG-31. According to the Russian military, it is capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 2,000 km, while guaranteed to overcome all existing and developed air and missile defense systems.
