Regiment Wayne Maroto, a spokesman for the US-led coalition force in the area, issued an official statement saying there had been no such attack. Yes, but several international media outlets, including the Associated Press, reported that such an attack had taken place.
BulgarianMiliter.com received a video by e-mail, which is alleged to be from the missile attack in question at the American base. The video is our source in Syria, but he did not shoot it. Despite the good quality in the beginning, after only a few seconds the video starts to interrupt and cut, but from the first seconds, it is clear that shots are fired and aimed at a specific target in the oil field, without guaranteeing exactly what the target is.
On social media, locals from this area of Syria posted photos, which are also alleged to be from the attack in the area. We also tracked the activity of the digital map of what was happening in Syria and found that the map recorded battles in exactly where the American base is located.
Judging by the explosions and the fire, the damage to the US military base is quite serious, while it is unknown at this time who exactly is behind the attack, as it could be both pro-Iranian groups and Islamic State terrorists.
From its sources, BulgarianMilitary.com knows that almost every week there is an attack on the Americans in Syria, but for objective reasons they have not been confirmed by the Pentagon, ie. if confirmed, the United States will have to withdraw troops according to its legislation.
It is not known if there were any casualties as a result of the missile attack.

Last week US troops stationed at a military base in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ez-Zor have come under intense rocket attack. The information was confirmed by the Syrian state agency SANA and the spokesperson of Operation Inherent Resolve Col. Wayne Marotto of the US Army.
“U.S. Forces in Syria, while under multiple rocket attack, acted in self-defense and conducted counter-battery artillery fire at rocket launching positions,” Colonel Marotto said.
The attack took place in the area of the Omar oil field at 19:44 local time on June 28. Colonel Marotto confirms that American troops have returned fire.
War in Syria
In February 2020, Turkey lost at least 62 troops killed in Syria. Nearly 100 soldiers were wounded, Syrian-backed forces destroyed dozens of Turkish armored vehicles, and more than ten drones, including drones, were shot down. Government forces recaptured nearly half of the Idlib de-escalation zone and left behind several Turkish observation posts. After that, Ankara sharply increased its military contingent in the region and launched the operation “Spring Shield” to push the Syrian troops. Militants are loyal to Ankara and support Turkey.
