With a lavish celebration at the Panagyurishte House-Monument Theater, the management, current, and past employees, partners, friends, and citizens honored 50 years of history of the Bulgarian Optical Society.
“Today we’re celebrating our beginning, all the years of rising and fall we went through, we celebrate our failures and successes. But today we celebrate something else – our future. Over the past 50 years, Opticoelectron has become synonymous with quality, honesty, and creativity. Today, after 50 years we realize that we have laid the foundations of our future. We will be here in the future “, the executive director of the company eng. Ivan Garchev told BulgarianMilitary.com.
The company made sure that the guests got fun from the performances of stand-up comedians, as well as from the incredible singing voice of Christiana Loizou – the singer who graduated in opera singing, and won one of the editions of the Bulgarian X-Factor.
Opticoelectron also organized several cocktails in different buildings for all who greeted and honored the company’s anniversary.
The management did not forget its employees either. In a specially prepared and printed book “Half a Century History of Opticoelectron” the 144 pages take us through the timeline of these 50 years – from the first sod of the first industrial building to today – people, buildings, machines, exhibitions, team building, friendship. Whole families and generations have worked and continue to work for the company.
Eng. Ivan Garchev did not forget those who work in the company today. The best, most conscientious, and with the longest experience received specially branded Apple watches as a gift for their dedication. “People are our capital. Money is won and lost, but people are the ones who work on machines, they are the ones who give ideas for new products, for a new beginning. We like to listen to our people because they are dedicating to their work. In recent years, we have invested in improving our products, training hundreds of employees in the world’s best practices,” he added.
Asked by a reporter of BulgarianMilitary.com what is the added value of the company to the region, Ivan Garchev said: “Opticoelectron is the reason for two things in Panagyurishte – increasing the intellectual capacity of the city and lay the foundation for much of today’s small and medium business.”
“You can be proud of the achievements of the company, which over the years has managed not only to preserve its rich traditions in the field of optical instrumentation but also to establish itself as a key company in Bulgaria and one of the world leaders in special production … The long-term experience in the production of optomechanical, optoelectronic, and laser devices and systems for the needs of defense and security, but most of all your high professionalism and competence, have established Optiъoelectron as a competitive, sought after and desired business partner in a national and an international plan,” the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev wrote in his congratulatory address to the company.
After the celebration, the company enters daily operation again, as it will have several exhibitions by the end of the year, where it will present new developments and technologies.
