US military ‘cyber soldiers’ could attack Russian hackers
WASHINGTON, BM – The United States will launch anti-hacking operations against mostly Russian hackers if the outcome of a meeting between US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Geneva on June 16 does not provide greater clarity or a solution to the problem. This information was stated in a report by the American television agency NBC, citing White House sources.
- Cyber defense consortium is being set up in Israel
- Indra is Working on Cyber Security Project of the EU Named “Sparta”
- Series of cyber attacks on Russian leaders have been carried out by the British
According to NBC reporters, Joe Biden is ready to launch a large-scale anti-hacking operation against Russian hackers and entrust its implementation to the military cyber unit at the Pentagon.
The United States believes that the latest hacker attacks were the work of Russian hackers. They used the so-called ransomware viruses, causing billions of dollars in severe economic damage. We remind you that a few weeks ago, the leading US pipeline was attacked by hackers, and this paralyzed the US economy. A few days later, meat processing company JBS was also hit by hackers. Both hacker attacks and several other smaller ones are a reason for the US government to remember the investigation.
The United States has blamed the hacker group DarkSide for the cyber attack on the central pipeline. There is no evidence that the hacker group operates under the influence of the Kremlin. Still, US intelligence claims that it is either based on Russian territory or in an Eastern European country. DarkSide claims that it does not operate under the influence of any government in the world but is an independent hacker group.
Regarding the attack on JBS computers, US intelligence said it was a criminal organization based in Russia.
The White House confirmed to reporters that the US administration of Joe Biden is in constant dialogue with the Kremlin on these two cases. Russia says it is ready to cooperate with the United States, but no official request has yet been received from Washington.
