Merkel intends to take a breather and consider what she will do after the chancellorship. This will happen exactly when the politician leaves public affairs. But, according to Merkel herself, she is waiting for the resignation “with impatience.”
“I will sleep a little, take a walk in nature and think about what exactly I want to do. I am looking forward to it, but for now I will do my job with pleasure,” RG quotes Merkel as saying.
However, so far, due to the lack of time associated, among other things, with the coronavirus pandemic, Merkel does not have time to think about her future – so far she is very busy with the problems of Germany.
This issue becomes relevant as the September parliamentary elections approach, after which a new government will be formed in the Bundestag.
We will remind, Angela Merkel has been holding the post of German Chancellor for 16 years. Earlier, Merkel herself warned that this term of the chancellorship is the last for her.
