The answer is yes, and the experiment shows that not only does the bullet from the assault rifle pierce the American bulletproof vest, but it also easily comes out on the other side and enters the ballistic gel.
From the nearly 40-minute film prepared, it is clear that the weapons experts used bullets of different calibers in the AK-12 tests. It is also clear from the trial that an additional element was placed in front of the vest, preventing any possible fragmentation of the vest.
We remind you that the AK-12 was adopted by the Russian military and the National Guard nearly three years ago – in 2018. In our ranking, made in April last year, the AK-12 took first place along with the American assault rifle Bushmaster ACR 3.
India has “discovered” protection against the AK-47
Last September, the Russian web portal topwar.ru announced that a body armor model had been created that can stop bullets fired from an AK-47 submachine gun. It features a high level of protection and relatively low weight, which is only 6, 3 pounds.
The authorship of the development belongs to the engineers from the Indian company “Midhani.” Work on the project has lasted more than a year, and tests expect soon.
It reported that new technologies are using in the “armor,” but the details are not disclosed. The new body armor can stop a 7.62 mm bullet moving at a speed of up to 700 m / s, which corresponds to a direct hit.
After the test phase is over, the army will buy several large batches.
