Russia’s new system prevents MiG fighters from spinning
MOSCOW, (BM) – Russian MiGs: MiG-29 and MiG-35 fighters now have a local patented system that significantly limits the aircraft’s load and prevents it from falling into a spin. TASS news agency published this news a few days ago.
- No more speculation – Russia is working on a next-gen interceptor
- Russia focuses on aerial swarms and attacking UAVs
- Russian Su-57 fighter jet will be the 5th-gen only in 2022
Military experts told BulgarianMilitary.com that such a system would allow Russian fighters to increase their tactical and technical performance. Today, the new MiG fighter models are categorizing as Generation 4 ++. However, the Russian Ministry of Defense prefers to invest in the other Russian brand – Su.
The MiG is likely to focus its efforts on selling its aircraft outside Russia. We know that the MiG is a preferred partner in some African and Asian countries. No matter where on the international markets, the Russian concert MiG faces serious competition in the face of American and European fighter jets. All this applies in full force to both 4th generation and 5th generation aircraft.
Russia has already delivered the first Su-57 fighter jet
At the end of the year, we announced that the Russian Ministry of Defense had already delivered the promised first mass-produced Su-57 fighter to Russian forces. Russian MoD gave the plane to the southern military district, which has the difficult task of monitoring and taking over the possible defense against a NATO invasion.
The Su-57 is a generation 4 ++ fighter. Although the Russians like to categorize it from generation 5, this fighter has two characteristics that it has not yet fulfilled.
One is related to the fighter’s engine. Now, Su-57 is powering by version 1 of the machine, but the real challenge is Izdelie 30, which is version 2 of the same engine. Although the two engines’ difference is small for categorizing as a fifth-generation fighter, Russia needs to integrate Izdelie 30 of propulsion. Several Russian media reported that Moscow would put the first fighters with an Izdelie engine into series production in 2024.
The second unsolved problem is the lack of absolute azimuth in aircraft avionics. The Russians claim to have this type of sensor, but it is a technology that is currently integrated only in American F-35 fighters.
What is the Russian Su-57 ‘criminal’ fighter?
The Sukhoi Su-57 has already received its NATO designation – Felon. The Su-57 is a single-seater twin-engine fighter. The fighter’s Russian technical documents say it has two engines, stealth coverage, and advanced avionics.
The fighter is capable of developing supersonic cruising speed. Some experts claim that the Su-57 has an integrated unique radar system. This system is located all over his body. Something that distinguishes the Su-57 from all other fighters in the world at the moment is the targeted infrared countermeasures system (DIRCM). Military experts say it is one of a kind and only the Su-57 has it. The Su-57 has protection against guided missiles with infrared guidance.
The armament of the Su-57 is also impressive. Equipped as standard with missiles that every fighter in the world has, the Su-57 is preparing to deliver hypersonic missiles. The Su-57 also took part in the battle. Russian Defense Ministry sources claim that the Su-57 has successfully passed combat tests in Syria. We also wrote about this last year.
It was the presence of the Su-57 in Syria that provoked severe discussions around the world. Mostly in a fascinating fact – the radars did not detect the planes in the air, and the world found out about them only when Su-57s landed at the Russian airbase Kmeinin in Syria.
