Russia likes to give names to its ships, corvettes and frigates associated with famous military figures of the Russian Federation. Such is the case with the new security corvette, which is already named Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov. Military experts suggest that these are the last naval tests of the Russian “hero” before the corvette went into service later this year.
Military sources from the Russian Ministry of Defense have already provided some of the successfully passed tests on the high seas. Initially, the crew of the Russian corvette conducted dozens of tests related to the procedures for takeoff and landing of a military helicopter at the stern of the corvette. The Ka-27PL helicopter, which is part of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation, took part in this test. The next tests are expected to be related to the ship’s weapon systems, missile and torpedo silos, as well as various scenarios of actions of the thieves in specific military actions.
According to a source in BulgarianMilitary.com, the Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov has a different type of armament, including the Redoubt anti-aircraft missile system, the universal Russian Uranus missile system, and a second Package anti-aircraft missile system. The corvette has two cannons on board – 120 mm and 30 mm, which must ensure the protection of the vessel. As already mentioned – the corvette has a platform for takeoff and landing of helicopters, which is located at the stern of the boat.
BulgarianMilitary.com also has the main characteristics of the vessel, which are as follows: the main crew of 99 sailors, displacement of the corvette with a length of 104.5 meters and a width of 13 meters is 2.2 thousand tons. This type of security corvette of the Russian Navy is intended primarily for the detection and destruction of enemy submarines and ships, as well as the ability to carry out landing activities or to solve specific naval targets and tasks in the near coastal zone of the guarded sea perimeter.
New secret Russian anti-submarine missile has been tested in the Barents Sea
The newest Russian frigate Admiral Kasatonov, often from the northern fleet of the Russian Federation, has fired and tested a new anti-submarine missile in the waters of the Barents Sea, as we reported in October this year.
So far, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation does not provide information about the type and model of the missile, but only concludes that the test was successful and was conducted as part of a series of qualified tests of the Russian fleet in the area. Military analysts suggest that the Russian anti-aircraft missile is a completely new development of the military-military complex, as the launch, movement of the missile and the hitting of the target were strictly monitored by a Russian nuclear submarine, an IL-38 reconnaissance patrol aircraft, a Ka-helicopter. 27 and a Russian torpedo boat.
A press release issued by Russia’s Defense Ministry also said that the crew of the Russian frigate Admiral Kasatonov had shown professionalism, confidence in the task and a good knowledge of military techniques needed to perform the test.

Particularly interesting is the opinion on the test of the anti-submarine missile of the Russian expert and director of the Museum of the Air Force Yuri Knutov. In his commentary, he did not talk about the new anti-missile missile at all, but with general talk specified the strength of the Russian air defense and the possibility of the new S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system to bring down American satellites in low orbit. This completely out of place comment speaks only about the secret situation in which the missile was apparently developed and subsequently tested, as so far there is no specific information about its name or functionality. Of course, the Russian anti-submarine missile may be known to the military community, and the attempt at “mystery” by the Russian authorities may be a kind of misinformation.
