U.S. generals believe a bomb was the cause of the blast in Beirut

WASHIMGTON, (BM) – According to American generals, a bomb was detonated in Beirut as a result of the attack, US President Donald Trump said on August 4 at a White House briefing, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.

“Well it would seem like it based on the explosion. I met with some of out great generals and they just seemed to feel” like it was an “attack”, Trump told reporters.

“The United States stands ready to assist Lebanon,” Trump said at a White House briefing of Tuesday’s explosion, which killed at least 78 people and injured thousands. “It looks like a terrible attack.”

US officials say unclear where Trump received his information on the Lebanon explosion and calling it an “attack”, but initial information does not appear to suggest it being an attack and it tracks closer to statements by Lebanese officials.

The Governor of Beirut, Marwan Abboud, arrived at the scene of the explosion in the port, after the connection with the fire brigade was lost, which was extinguishing the burning warehouse in the port.

Local TV channels reported that the authorities ruled out a terrorist attack.
