Russian troops used electronic suppression systems to neutralize a drones attack
MOSCOW, (BM) – The Russian military neutralized the attack drones at a training exercise at the Gudauta training ground as part of a surprise check, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing the press service of the Southern Military District statement.
“Within the framework of the tasks of a sudden check of the combat readiness of the electronic warfare unit, in cooperation with the radar posts of the Russian military base of the Southern Military District in Abkhazia, unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralized,” the message says.
It is noted that the servicemen at the Gudauta training ground used stations and complexes of electronic suppression and intelligence, including “Zhitel” and “Krasukha”. “With the help of electronic warfare systems, specialists remotely brought drones out of working condition,” the press service said.
In order to timely identify objects and manpower of the “enemy” at the command posts, the crews of the UAV and the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun complex were involved.
At the request of Army Commander of the Southern Military District General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, they were disguised and protected from various methods of attack, including attack UAV attacks and vehicles stuffed with explosives.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that in the course of a surprise check of the troops of the Southern and Western military districts, more than 149 thousand people, more than 26.8 thousand pieces of equipment, 414 aircraft, 106 ships and support vessels were involved.
According to him, during the inspection, 56 tactical exercises with the troops are envisaged. 35 polygons and training fields, 17 marine polygons in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas are involved.
Sudden inspections are the main form of verification activities and combat training of the troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Russian ground forces in Abkhazia raised by alarm during a sudden check
Servicemen of the Russian base of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in Abkhazia were alerted on July 19 as part of the announced surprise check of the combat readiness of the Armed Forces.

In the coming days, at the training grounds in Abkhazia, heterogeneous tactical groups of the formation will conduct bilateral exercises with live fire, repel an attack of a simulated enemy with massive fire from various types of weapons from the Black Sea and one of the republic’s mountain ranges.

In total, about 1,200 servicemen of a motorized rifle formation participate in the episode of the exercises, more than 200 units of weapons and military equipment are involved.
