Baghdad’s Green Zone went under rocket fire, a missile fell near US Embassy
BAGDHAD, (BM) – Baghdad’s Green Zone went under rocket fire on Wednesday evening, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing Al-Hadath. According to the television station, the rocket fell near the headquarters of the joint operations command of the Iraqi armed forces. An air raid siren went off. There is no data on victims and victims.
Immediately after the shelling, the security forces began to search for the place from which the launch had been made, and found that a rocket aimed at the American embassy was launched near the People’s Stadium.
The shelling was carried out on the eve of the first stage of a strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States. Officials of the two countries will discuss on Thursday topical issues of cooperation in the fields of politics, security, energy and culture. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale will lead these discussions with representatives from the ministries of defense, finance, energy and other agencies, as well as their Iraqi counterparts.

On January 26, five missiles were fired at it – three of them fell directly into the territory of the US Embassy, and one hit the dining room, where dinner was at that time. The latest launch was on May 19 – two missiles fired did not reach the target and fell in the vicinity of the zone. One of them hit the roof of the building, there were no victims and injured.
Washington repeatedly accused the pro-Iranian militias and groups operating in Iraq of involvement in the attacks.
