During the inspection, the on-duty units of the radio engineering and anti-aircraft missile regiments of the Air Defense Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces discovered and carried out a conventional firing of control targets.

The actions of reconnaissance aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles at low, medium and high altitudes were simulated. In total, the combat crews of the S-400 Triumph, S-300 Favorit anti-aircraft missile systems [SAM], and the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems [SAM] completed more than 30 conditional missile launches.

The role of control targets was played by the Su-35S, Su-34 and Su-30SM fighter-bombers employed in the air defense of Moscow and the Central Industrial Region, as well as Mi-24P attack helicopters.

“During the check, issues of interaction with the duty forces and means of the air defense forces of the Western Military District were worked out,” the military department noted.
