Iran: We support the riots, Floyd was killed by the American nature to kill

TEHRAN, (BM) – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei called the murder of African-American George Floyd in Minneapolis as an event that reveals the “true face of America”, learned citing Iranian media.

“The fact that the policeman calmly lays his knee on the neck of a black man and holds him there … while several other policemen are standing there, watching and not taking any action, is not something that has just appeared,” said the spiritual leader of the Islamic Republic in his speech on Wednesday in Tehran, broadcasts the Iranian English-language television channel Press TV.

Khamenei’s speech was dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the death of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Mousavi Khomeini.

“This is the nature of America, this is what America has done to the world at all times. This is what they [the USA] did in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Vietnam and many other countries,” the head of the Iranian state noted.

According to him, the authorities in Washington are “the worst way” towards the Americans themselves, therefore, “the people of the United States have every right to feel embarrassment and shame for their administration, especially for the present.”

Recall that in Washington and other American cities, the local police have been using tear gas, rubber bullets and other special equipment to disperse the crowd throughout the last days of the protests that began after the May 25 murder of African American George Floyd by law enforcement officers in Minneapolis.

Dozens of U.S. cities have introduced curfews that have not been here since the riots following the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968. About 10 thousand people were detained.

On June 1, re-autopsy results were published at the request of the Floyd family. Experts concluded that death occurred as a result of “mechanical asphyxiation,” that is, physical exposure that disrupted oxygen.

The report said that three police officers were involved in the death. A Hennepin County medical examiner report released last Monday also stated that Floyd’s death was the result of violent acts of strangulation.

It is also noted that the 46-year-old African American suffered from heart disease, fentanyl intoxication, and recent methamphetamine use. 44-year-old policeman Derek Chovin, who pressed Floyd’s neck to the ground for several minutes, was charged with murder.
