The US is close to getting incredible new weapons, Trump said
MERRITT ISLAND, (BM) – The US is close to getting incredible new weapons, US President Donald Trump said, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing Interfax.
“Soon we will land on Mars. In addition, soon we will have at our disposal the most advanced weapons in history,” he said, speaking to NASA staff in Florida.
“I have already seen prototypes, and even it’s hard for me to believe in it [in the capabilities of the developed weapon – ed.],” he added.
Trump did not talk about what type of new weapons in question, and returned to the discussion of space exploration by American companies.
“Our former leaders put us in a situation where sending our astronauts into space depended on other countries. Now it’s over,” he said, speaking to NASA staff in Florida.
“Decades during which we only lost time and did almost nothing [in space – ed.] Now officially remain in the past,” he added.
Trump recalled that earlier on Saturday, the United States sent to the ISS “American astronauts on an American rocket and from American territory.”
SpaceX’s new US manned spacecraft Crew Dragon with two astronauts on board successfully launched into orbit as part of a test flight.
The launch of the Crew Dragon was carried out using the Falcon 9 launch vehicle from the launch site at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
Crew Dragon, on which veteran astronauts Daglas Harley and Robert Benken went on a test flight, was the first American manned ship launched from the United States since 2011, when the shuttle shuttle program was discontinued.
BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that a few hours before successful launch of Crew Dragon the trials of SpaceX’s third Starship SN4 prototype at the Boca Chica test site in south Texas had failed. The Starship exploded and the explosion occurred while testing the Raptor methane engine. The broadcast was conducted on the LabPadre YouTube channel.
