The last Su-57’s tests are over, serial production is forthcoming
MOSCOW, (BM) – The fifth-generation fighter Su-57 passed successful state tests, confirming all the specifications laid down. This was announced on May 20 by Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov in an interview with RIA Novosti, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
“During the tests, the Su-57 confirmed almost all the requirements of the tactical and technical specifications in full. The state contract for the supply of 76 aircraft to equip three aviation regiments of the Aerospace Forces is being carried out in accordance with the delivery schedule,” Yuri Borisov said.
The fifth-generation fighter Su -57 was developed at the Design Bureau and known as the PAK FA project, previously known as the T-50. It belongs to the class of heavy fighters, can develop supersonic cruising speed, its advantages are stealth, maneuverability in overload conditions, multifunctionality and the availability of advanced electronics.
At the Army-2019 forum, a contract was signed for the supply of 76 Su-57 fighters to the Russian Air Force. Tests during which the operation of the second stage engine and the functioning of all systems are tested continue.
The Ministry of Defense has repeatedly stated that the Su-57 was successfully tested in Syria.
