TEHRAN, (BM) – Abbas Mousavi, a spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry, said the Iranians would remain in Syria until their legitimate government asked for their withdrawal, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing News.co.il. According to him, the Iranian presence has nothing to do with the actions of the United States or Israel.

“We are present there at the invitation of the authorities as advisers on the fight against terrorism, we are providing assistance in other areas. Our relations with Syria are sincere and close, they are strategic,” he said.

These words were in response to a statement made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during a recent visit to Israel. The American politician demanded that Iran withdraw its forces from Syria, accusing the Ayatollah regime of spreading terror.

Note that on May 17, the supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that the Americans would be expelled from Syria and Iraq. According to him, the American presence in these countries is illegal.

A day earlier, a statement appeared on his official Twitter page, in which Israel was called a rabid, predatory dog that attacks innocent people. “They advocate genocide, destruction, and the killing of women and children and do not recognize any agreements,” Ayatollah said.
