Kyiv is preparing for a large-scale offensive in Donbass, Moscow said
MOSCOW, (BM) – Ukraine’s purchase of new large armaments from Washington could mean Kiev’s preparations for a large-scale offensive in the Donbass in the event of difficulties with peace agreements, explained Konstantin Zatulin, a member of the State Duma’s committee on CIS affairs and relations with compatriots, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.

According to him, if the Ukrainian authorities do not like the conditions that will be agreed in the Minsk and “Norman” formats, Kiev may violate all peace agreements and take aggressive options to “resolve” the issue in the Donbass, FAN reports.
“In fact, there were already enough all kinds of signals and hints that if a peaceful settlement does not go according to our option, then Ukraine will undertake a certain act by the end of the year. The purchase of large quantities of weapons fits into these threats,” the parliamentarian detailed.
Earlier, the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, Vladimir Yelchenko, announced that Kiev and Washington are negotiating the purchase of three large quantities of weapons and the deal should be closed this year.
“This weapon is especially important today in the Donbass, in the east of Ukraine, for our protection. We are talking about at least three large parties, and I will not specify,” the Ukrainian diplomat said.
Earlier, the deputy director of the Kiev Center for Army Research, Conversion and Disarmament, Mikhail Samus, said that decommissioned American ships would help Ukraine fundamentally strengthen its position in the Black Sea compared to other regional states.

He called “super success” such a development in which the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran would deal with this issue.
“If we are talking about strengthening Ukraine in the maritime direction, then only the USA can help us here. Quickly transfer to us a certain amount of at least a second-hand missile weapon ship. A dozen ships with cruise missiles can change the balance in the Black Sea,” the expert is sure.
