Donald Trump blocked a resolution restricting the use of force against Iran

WASHINGTON, (BM) – The US President Donald Trump blocked a resolution restricting the use of military force against Iran, the White House press service said May 6, learned

“This is a very insulting resolution introduced by the Democrats to win the election (to Congress) on November 3 through the separation of the Republican Party,” the American president said.

He did not agree that US military action should be justified by the threat of an imminent invasion by Iran. According to Trump, the American Constitution states that “the president must be able to foresee the next steps of our opponents and take quick and decisive retaliatory measures.”

“That’s what I did it!” – added Trump, explaining his order to kill the Iranian General Kassem Suleimani.

We will remind, earlier the resolution limiting the powers of the President of the United States in the use of force against Iran was supported by a majority of votes in the lower and upper houses of the US Congress. However, the Democrats did not have enough votes to overcome the veto of the US president.
