It was founded in 1922 by Vanivar Bush and his two friends as the American Appliance Company. Initially, she was engaged in artificial cooling technologies, then – in electronics. The first successful product was a gas-filled rectifier – an electronic lamp designed to power home radios from an AC mains instead of bulky, expensive and short-lived batteries. The rectifier was given the name “Raytheon” (“divine ray”). Thanks to him, radio has become a real media outlet. In 1925, to promote its most promising product, the company adopted its name and became known as the Raytheon Manufacturing Company (“Raytheon Manufacturing Company”). Currently, Raytheon Company is a powerful American research and production corporation with 72 thousand employees.

Boeing Company is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of aviation, space and military equipment. Headquartered in Chicago (Illinois, USA). And yet, the location of the main production facilities and at the same time the place of birth of the company is Seattle (Washington). As for the story. On June 15, 1916, the first flight of one of two B&W seaplanes built by William Boeing with the help of naval engineer George Conrad Westervelt took place, and The Pacific Aero Products Company was founded on July 15 in Seattle Boeing. Their headquarters is in Bethesda (Maryland), USA. The company receives 95% of revenue from orders from the US Department of Defense, other agencies and departments of the US government, as well as from foreign customers. Today Lockheed Martin’s business is divided into 4 key segments: aeronautics, electronic systems, information systems and space systems. The number of employees worldwide is 130 thousand people.
