According to the agency, Russian troops prevented US officials from entering the city of Kamyshly, where the Russian military base is located. After that, the military from Russia moved away from the borders of the city to the airport where they are based, while the Americans remained at the entrance.

Other details of the incident are not given.

In mid-April, it was reported that the United States tested the fifth-generation F-35A Lightning II fighter in Syria. An American fighter was seen in the sky over the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Hasak, that is, in the immediate vicinity of the Kamyshly airfield, where the Russian military base is currently located. It was noted that in this way, the United States probably wants to demonstrate its military power.
