An Israeli drone bypassed Russian air defense and hit a target in Syria
DAMASCUS, (BM) – After 20 hours of activity near the Lebanese-Syrian border, an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle crossed Syrian airspace and launched a missile strike on a car with a certain senior member of the Hezbollah organization, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing news agency Aviapro.
Despite increased preparedness, the Syrian air defense and Russian radars could not timely detect the Israeli drone, as a result of which the unnamed aerial vehicle hit the target and simply disappeared.
At the moment, it remains unknown who exactly was eliminated by the Israeli military. However, given the fact that the radars of the Russian S-400 and Syrian S-300 could not quickly detect violation of the airspace, and did not open fire on the drone, this raises many questions regarding the reliability and effectiveness of the Syrian and Russian air defense systems against Israeli aviation and drones.
“It cannot be ruled out that Israel actively conducted electronic suppression of Syrian air defense systems. However, fire was not opened on the UAV that violated the border, which is very surprising, especially after the statements of Damascus about its intentions to shoot down any drones and aircraft that violate the airspace of the Arab Republic” notes the specialist.
According to some reports, a blow to a civilian car was inflicted from a distance of about 2 kilometers.
