These complexes are mobile, but worse protected than mine-based missiles, noted the columnist for the publication, Caleb Larson, RIA Novosti reports.

“Russia remains a leading power in the field of creating all types of missiles, and Russian strategic missile forces constitute an important element of Moscow’s military strategy (…) from blocking access / blocking of zones in local conflicts and ending with the delivery of strategic nuclear weapons to targets located at other continents,” the article says.

The author explained that in the Kaliningrad region there are missile systems with which Russia can “block” part of the Baltic Sea.

According to the observer, Russia has several versions of the Tochka rocket. This missile system was designed and adopted in 1975. It allows the flexible use of forces, means and tactics. Also, the missile can be equipped with anti-tank, anti-personnel warheads and warheads to damage the runway.

A rocket tractor can move off-road and overcome water barriers.

Now in Russia, the “Point” is replaced by the “Iskander”, it has a longer launch range and a more powerful warhead. For guidance, the complex uses the GLONASS system.

“This is a very accurate missile, the probable circular error of which is from five to ten meters,” Larson emphasized.
