The Palestinian militant group Hamas is ready to negotiate with Israel

GAZA CITY, (BM) – Musa Dudin, a member of the Hamas political bureau, told the Haaretz website that his organization was ready “even tomorrow” to begin negotiations with Israel on the return of the detained civilians and the bodies of dead soldiers, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing Newsru.co.il.

Musa Dudin said that Israel has opened a “window of opportunity” that it can use, so later negotiations will have to be conducted on completely different conditions.

Dudin emphasized that Israel knows the requirements of Hamas, and its organization does not consider it necessary to discuss them in the media. At the same time, the mediator through whom negotiations will be conducted must be impartial.

Commenting on a statement circulated earlier by the Israeli Prime Minister’s ministry about Jerusalem’s readiness for negotiations, Dudin said that “Netanyahu is pre-election campaigning, and the last thing that interests him is the return of prisoners.”

Recall that on April 2, the head of the administration in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sanouar, said that the Hamas government was ready to mitigate its demands for the release of terrorists from Israeli prisons in exchange for the bodies of military personnel. He said Hamas would be ready for negotiations if Israel freed older people and sick prisoners from prisons.

Hamas said on April 7 that Israel has yet to respond to a proposal by Yahya Sanouar. A few hours later, the Israeli Prime Minister informed the ministry that the prisoner coordinator Yaron Blum, the National Security Council and security officials were ready to negotiate with Hamas through intermediaries.

At the same time, the message noted that Israel hopes for a constructive dialogue that will lead to the return of civilians and bodies of the fallen to their homeland.
