Afghan intelligence general died after bomb explosion in Kabul

KABUL, (BM) – General Sharmila Frog, director of the gender department of the National Security Directorate, has died from injuries from a bomb explosion in Kabul, learned citing several local media sources.

According to informed sources in the security service, on March 30, the general was seriously injured in the explosion of a radio-controlled explosive device embedded in her car.

Three more people were injured with her. All the victims were evacuated to the hospital. So far, not a single person or group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

The US Embassy in Kabul expressed condolences.

“Today we mourn the death of General DNB Sharmila Frog and express our condolences to her family. For 30 years she served in Afghanistan. She was a role model, one of the founders of the female security service and a true patriot. We thank her and all those who serve their country,” the diplomatic mission said in a statement.
