A new incident between the US and Russian military patrols in Syria

DAMASCUS, (BM) – According to the sources of BulgarianMilitary.com, the incident occurred on Monday, March 30, when a military convoy of the Russian Federation entered the village of Kari Marka.

Russian military police cars were stopped at an American checkpoint, the establishment of which was not agreed with the official Damascus.

The US military decided to arrange another provocation by setting up “traps” in which Russian equipment fell. In particular, we are talking about the “Tiger” and BTR-82A armored vehicles. The Americans literally drove the convoy out of the way.

After the patrol stopped, the Americans began to demand the departure of Russian troops from the section of the road. However, the US provocation failed because Typhoon-K rescued the stuck equipment.

The vehicle was able to quickly return the cars to the tracks, as a result of which the Russian convoy continued to patrol the highway.

Typhoon-K is a Russian family of Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) armored vehicles in service since 2014.

Around 120 Russian companies including KamAZ, Gaz-Group, and Bauman University, etc. are taking part in Typhoon program. The main aim of the program is to design a fundamentally new unified platform for all Russian armored wheeled vehicles.

The Typhoon family of armored vehicles is intended for the troop transport (armoured personnel carrier) role, and through the installation of various special equipment or weapon modules allows its use in specialized roles such as self propelled anti-aircraft artillery, unmanned aerial vehicles carriers, cranes, tow trucks and others.

BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that on March 23 the Syrian army and local residents blocked the movement of the American military convoy in the province of Al-Hasek in the north-east of Syria.

Then, the SAA troops and residents of the village of Hama did not allow the convoy to pass and forced the Americans to turn around. It is specified that the American convoy consisted of 11 units of military equipment.
