This was also reported by Interfax with reference to a joint statement by the heads of the interagency coordination headquarters of Russia and Syria, Mikhail Mizintsev and Hussein Makhlyuf.

According to the document, the US government is trying to take advantage of the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection and is putting pressure on the UN leadership. According to Mikhail Mizintsev and Hussein Makhlyuf, the United States is transporting humanitarian supplies to controlled fighters to a refugee camp under the pretext of COVID-19 pneumonia diagnostic tools.

The document also emphasizes that the Syrian authorities are seriously taking all the necessary measures to stop the spread of a new type of coronavirus. Thus, more quarantine departments appeared on the territory of Syria, 19 working groups were created to identify new cases of infection, and additional laboratories were opened in the provinces of Damascus, Latakia and Aleppo.

The statement notes that anyone can freely leave the camp. According to the document, the Syrian authorities are ready to check all those leaving Rukban for the presence of coronavirus and, if detected, provide appropriate treatment.

The camp is located 20 kilometers from the American base of At-Tanf, near the border of Syria, Iraq and Jordan. More than 50 thousand refugees live in it.

On March 22, Russia announced that people were massively dying in the camp. Filming from outer space indicates that the number of natural graves is growing around Rukban. On March 6, Moscow accused the US command of disrupting a humanitarian operation to rescue refugees in Rukban.
