A Russia’s Su-27 fourth-gen fighter jet crashed into the Black Sea
MOSCOW, (BM) – The Su-27 fighter, according to preliminary data, crashed into the Black Sea, an operation to search for a pilot was organized, learned BulgarianMilitary.com according the Russian Defense Ministry statement.
“According to preliminary data, the plane crashed into the sea. Searching for a pilot in the area of the operation is complicated by difficult weather conditions,” the Interfax report said.
The mark on the screens of objective control means from the Su-27 fighter disappeared on Wednesday at about 20:10 in the Black Sea, 50 km from Feodosia.
The plane performed a scheduled flight, the military said.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, at 20:11 a signal of an emergency radio beacon was recorded.
“For the search and rescue of the pilot in the area of operation of the beacon, the forces and means of the search and rescue services of the Southern Military District were quickly raised: the An-26 plane and the Mi-8 helicopter,” the report said.
A small anti-submarine ship of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian vessels located in the immediate vicinity of the scene were also sent for search and rescue operations, the military said.
Recall that on October 14 last year the Su-27 fighter belonging to the Ethiopian air force crashed. The accident occurred immediately after taking off from the country’s main air base in 50 km southeast of Addis Ababa, two pilots died. The instructor and the trainee pilot are called as victims of the incident.
