This information was also announced by the representative of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces Magdalena Dvořakov.

“Czech troops were temporarily recalled from Iraq due to a significant reduction in operational tasks, threats to their security in Iraq and the coronavirus pandemic,” the military said.

The Czech Air Force special aircraft landed on the eve of landing at an airfield in the Prague region of Kela. On board were 30 troops. These are headquarters officers, as well as instructors of the military police and chemical defense units. They were involved in Operation Inherent Resolve (“Unshakable Determination”) and NATO’s mission in Iraq.

Arab media have reported the start of the withdrawal of US troops from the Habbaniya base in Anbar province in western Iraq. Last week, the Pentagon began transferring another base of the United States-led coalition to combat the Daesh terrorist group in western Iraq (near the city of Al Qa’im) to the armed forces of the Arab Republic.

The “retreat” of the United States and its NATO allies from Iraq is associated by many commentators with the recent increase in missile attacks by pro-Iranian militias on bases in Iraq, where the American coalition military are deployed.
