Russia is ready to resume military operations against pro-Turkish forces in Syria
DAMASCUS, (BM) – The Russian ultimatum given to Turkey expires next Wednesday and Moscow, together with Syria, is ready to resume military operations against pro-Turkish terrorists in Idlib and Aleppo, despite the agreements previously concluded between Moscow and Ankara, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing news agency Aviapro.
The reason for this is that since the conclusion of the agreements, Turkey has not only failed to comply with any of the agreed points, but also repeatedly violated the terms of the agreement.
Recall that on March 8 pro-Turkish forces in the Idlib de-escalation zone violated the ceasefire regime 19 times. This information was reported by Rear Admiral Oleg Zhuravlev, head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria.
According to earlier reports, Russia has gave an ultimatum to Turkey on the situation in Idlib. In particular, Ankara was required to immediately provide passage along the M4 highway for joint Russian-Turkish patrols.
“The Turkish side has been given extra time to take measures to neutralize the terrorist groups and ensure the security of joint patrolling of the M4 highway,” the Russian Ministry of Defence statement said on March 16.
However, Turkey did not even take any measures, including the current situation when the Russian military patrol was again blocked by militants and terrorists.
Moreover, contrary to the conditions for the withdrawal of Turkish weapons, Ankara continues to transfer artillery mounts, MLRS systems, anti-aircraft missile systems, tanks and ammunition for terrorists to Syria, which only contributes to the escalation of the situation in the region.
According to the data presented, Russia set a condition for Turkey and the militants – to provide access to the M4 highway before the end of this month.
However, given the fact that the terrorists made attempts to undermine the Russian military convoy, mined the highway and blocked it with massive ditches, and Turkey, in turn, did not take any measures, the Russian military aviation will mark the beginning of next month with powerful air strikes.
