Russia dominates the United States in the Middle East, Turkey said

ANKARA, (BM) – The Turkish media Daily Sabah published material comparing the role of Russia and the United States in the Middle East, learned

Commentator Meriem Elijda Atlas notes the seriousness of Russia’s positions in the region, given the special relations with Israel that are not related to the war in Syria.

REPORT: Putin should not be given the opportunity to use military force

US President Donald Trump, abandoning the programs of his predecessor, continues to withdraw the American contingent from Syria and the region as a whole. This circumstance is just pushing Tel Aviv toward rapprochement with Moscow. In recent years, Russia and Israel have managed to maintain diplomatic relations at the highest level.

In early 2020, Greece, Israel and Cyprus signed an agreement to lay three pipelines that will supply natural gas in the amount of up to 10 billion cubic meters per year from Israel and Cyprus through the territory of Greece to European countries. However, the cost of such gas will be two and a half times higher than the price of the Russian resource.

Warm relations between Greece and Cyprus have been preserved since the Cold War due to the convenient geographical location of Cyprus. The world community at the moment does not have a clear position on the issue of unifying the island, which plays into the hands of Russia, because there is no reason to be afraid of NATO’s actions.

The Daily Sabah columnist also pointed out the opposite of US policy in the region. The journalist called the purchase of the S-400 a manifestation of traditional American imperialism. She also noted that Ankara has repeatedly requested the supply of American Patriot systems, but never received a specific answer.

REPORT: Trump: ‘America’s enemies are on the run’

Washington does not hide the fact that in the matter of helping allies, they are driven only by greed. If one of the Middle Eastern players is not ready to agree with the American position, the United States uses Congress to impose sanctions on a country that does not want to follow the White House’s order. The observer of the Turkish publication called this approach ineffective at the present time.

Earlier it was reported that a member of the Federation Council, Franz Klintsevich, indicated that US losses in the Middle East would turn against Trump in the elections. At the same time, he noted that the decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan had a positive impact on the ranking of the politician.
