Coronavirus may delay Rafale fighter jets delivery to India
NEW DELHI, (BM) – Delivery of the first four Rafale fighters to India, scheduled for May, may be delayed, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing Bulgarian news agency Pan.bg. New Delhi expects Paris to respond when it plans to fly, but there are indications that the coronavirus spread situation may change these plans.

New fighters were expected to land in India in the last week of May, but the Indian Air Force command has not yet received confirmation from Dassault Aviation.
The Government of India suspends all visas until April 15, except those for diplomats, officials, government officials, UN officials and other international organizations.
Ambala Air Force Base, where the first four Rafale fighters will be deployed, is gearing up for the new fighter armament ceremony. They will be part of the 17th Golden Arrows.
The second Rafale squadron will be deployed at Hasimira Air Base in West Bengal to counter the threat posed by China.
Due to restrictive measures taken, a group of technicians from France may find it difficult to travel to India.

France is the second most affected country in Europe with reported cases of coronavirus cases of 2284 people and deaths reach 55. In several cities in France, including Bordeaux, which is near Merignac, where Rafale’s production line is located, positive coronavirus cases have been reported.
