According to Al-Ikhbariya, none of them reached the goal. Syrian radio station Sham FM clarifies that 12 enemy missiles were shot down in response to the attack.

For its part, the IDF RIA Novosti press service said the Israeli army did not comment on foreign media reports of air strikes on positions in the Homs and Kuneitra region.

There are no diplomatic relations between Syria and Israel, since the creation of both states they have been at war. In particular, they have a long-term territorial conflict over the status of the Golan Heights.

The Israeli military regularly strikes at targets in Syria, explaining their actions by the desire to prevent modern weapons from falling into enemy hands. First of all, we are talking about the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, which is fighting in the region on the side of Bashar al-Assad and controlled by Tehran.

Golan

Israel recaptured and occupied the Syrian Golan during the Six Day War of 1967, and in 1981 unilaterally annexed them.

Tel Aviv in this dispute supports Washington. A year ago, Donald Trump even signed a declaration recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

In this case, the position of the Syrians is shared by most of the world community. On December 4, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution demanding that Israel leave the occupied territories, but the confrontation continues.
