Haftar’s forces launched lethal attacks on Turkish Mitiga air base in Tripoli
TRIPOLI, (BM) – The Libyan Army has announced that it has launched lethal attacks on Tripoli’s Mitiga air base, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing Greek news agency Pentapostagma.
According the news agency the LNA attack has been caused heavy human and material casualties among Turkish soldiers and mercenaries.

According to information from the LNA side, his artillery hit his targets precisely at the Mitga Air Base, which houses, among other things, the Turkish military hall.
The same source announced in its official Facebook account that the artillery managed to destroy it, stressing that human and material losses were severe.
Recall that on February 29 the air defense of Haftar Armed Forces have downed a total of 6 Turkish made UAVs last night in Tripoli.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on February 23 that several Turkish servicemen had been killed in Libya, while also claiming that there were large losses in the ranks of the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
“Several of our heroes were martyred in Libya, but losses in Haftar’s ranks reached almost a hundred mercenaries”, Erdogan said, speaking in Izmir, as quoted by Turkish state-run news agency Anadolu.
He did not specify the exact number of killed Turkish servicemen.
In January, Turkey started deploying its troops to Libya to support the UN-recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) forces. According to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ankara seeks to protect the GNA from being overthrown by the LNA, which supports the eastern-based interim government in the port city of Tobruk.
On 19 January, Berlin hosted an international conference on Libya with the participation of Russia, the United States, Turkey, Egypt, and several other countries, as well as the European Union and the United Nations. The main outcome of the conference was an appeal by its participants for a ceasefire in Libya, along with an obligation to refrain from interfering in the conflict and observe the UN arms embargo.
