KABUL, (BM) – The American army launched an air strike against the militants of the Taliban terrorist organization in the Afghan province of Helmand. This was announced by the representative of the US Armed Forces in Afghanistan, Colonel Sonny Leggett on Twitter, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
According to him, a blow was struck on March 4 against the Taliban, who carried out active attacks on the checkpoint of the Afghan armed forces in the Nahr-e-Saraj county in Helmand province.
“It was a defensive strike necessary to break the attack. This was our first strike in the Taliban in 11 days,” Leggett said.
The colonel emphasized that the United States Armed Forces are calling on the Taliban to “stop unnecessary attacks and stick to commitments.”
According some specialists The United States violated the agreement signed between Washington and the Taliban in Doha, striking militant positions in the Afghan province of Helmand.
According to them, the Taliban did not take any obligations with respect to the government of Afghanistan, but only with respect to the United States and have not violated them so far.
