Earlier, a spokesman for Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Turkey has not yet fulfilled the terms of the agreement on Syria, concluded more than a year ago in Sochi.

The cooling in relations between Russia and Turkey in Syria occurred at the beginning of the year, when the Syrian army, with the support of the Russian armed forces, attacked opposition groups in Idlib. Turkey took such actions as hostile, because it fears that they will result in an influx of refugees into its territory. In response, the Turkish army launched an offensive on February 20, but was stopped by Syrian forces.

On February 21, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also accused Russia of not fulfilling the Sochi accords. This happened after a telephone conversation with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
